Maybe you’ve driven by a farm or woodlot and noticed this sign. It’s an American Tree Farm sign. The American Tree Farm System is a program designed for landowners who show pride in their woodlands. The program is designed for those interested in promoting active and sustainable forest management on thier properties.
In August 2019 Eric Olson, owner & forester for Legacy Forest Management completed training through the ATFS to become a certified tree farm inspector.
As an inspector we can review and revise your current management plan or write up an entirely new plan and enroll your property in the program. Most MFL landowners qualify for the program and some are already participants and might not even know it! By opting “IN” for Forest Certification when enrolling in the MFL program landowners have been put in to this program since the MFL program meets and or exceeds all the standards set forth by the ATFS for certification.
